A new rotating cast of young actors will step in as Jane and Michael Banks in Mary Poppins this month. Catherine Missal and Christopher Flaim joined the production on May 18. Rachel Resheff and David Gabriel Lerner will begin performances on May 25, and Rozi Baker and Ethan Haberfield will hop on board June 4 at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
Missal previously appeared on Broadway in A Tale of Two Cities and recently completed the national tour of 101 Dalmations. Both Resheff and Baker appeared in Shrek the Musical, with Resheff also having appeared in Billy Elliot. This is the Broadway debut for Haberfield, Lerner and Flaim, though Flaim was the original Michael in the Mary Poppins’ North American tour.
The current Broadway cast of Mary Poppins stars Laura Michelle Kelly in the title role, Chirstian Borle as Bert, Karl Kenzler as Mr. Banks, Meghan Osterhaus as Mrs. Banks and Valerie Boyle as Mrs. Brill. Based on the popular film and book series of the same name, Mary Poppins follows the adventures of a “practically perfect” magical nanny as she takes care of the mischevious Banks children in London.
